Focuses on oral literature in America. The main forms of folklore (tale, legend, joke, myth, proverb, speech, riddle, belief, ballad, custom material) are studied, as well as major folk groups. Also the role of folklore in literature and culture is examined. PREREQUISITE: ENG 1111 Composition I or consent of instructor. |
