A comprehensive safety course designed to develop student awareness of a wide range of coal mining specific hazards, general accident prevention techniques and principles, and the avoidance of such hazardous situations. The course will stress accident analysis, analyzing problems, developing good safety, and accident investigation. One-half to one credit will be awarded each time student successfully completes the course. Total number of credits that may be applied to a degree shall be four credits.
