Two weeks will be devoted to each software application. Students will work on an assignment in class and have one assignment to complete before the next week’s class meeting. The first two weeks will focus on Word followed by PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets, and then Access database. The purchase price for the textbook is $187.36, which the students will keep once the class is over to refer to as a reference book. The 3 semester hour course is taught by Amy Loss. Students should have some basic computer skills.
Tuition for this course is $20 per semester hour for all in-district students and is guaranteed to go regardless of enrollment size. That’s a big cost savings when compared to the regular tuition rate of $77 per semester hour.
This is a Hybrid course which blends face-to-face classroom instruction with online assignments. Students need to complete CIS 1104 before enrolling in a hybrid course. CIS 1104 is a free tutorial. Ask the Records Office for details.
