This course is a beginning study of the fundamentals of music and musicianship including written harmony, analysis, sight singing, ear training and dictation. Topics include scales and intervals, triads, harmonic progression, tonality and modality, 7th chords, figured bass, and the harmonic structure of the phrase. Melodic organization, voice leading, style analysis and the major-minor dominant seventh chord are also studied. |
