This course is designed to prepare Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) students for successful completion of the NPTE-PTA examination and entry-level clinical practice. The course provides a comprehensive review of core PTA content areas, including musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary, and integumentary systems; therapeutic interventions; equipment and modalities; data collection; and professional standards related to safety, ethics, and scope of practice. Foundational concepts in anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology are reinforced through clinically relevant applications. The student will gain study skills specifically to prepare for the NPTE-PTA, enhance their clinical reasoning, and prepare for job interviews and an active role in the rehabilitation profession. PREREQUISITES: PTA 1203, PTA 1205, PTA 1206, PTA 1210, PTA 1221, PTA 2202; enrollment in the PTA program. |
